Idiap PhD Student Paper Award

Student: Suhan Shetty

For his paper in robotics entitled “Ergodic Exploration using Tensor Train: Applications in Insertion Tasks”, Suhan Shetty received Idiap’s Best Paper Award. He demonstrated in this article that robots could cope with uncertainties and limited vision sensing capability by tactile exploration. He developed a fast and efficient search strategy based on so called ergodic control, used in manipulation tasks requiring the insertion of objects. Suhan is in the Robot Learning & Interaction group. For his paper in robotics entitled “Ergodic Exploration using Tensor Train: Applications in Insertion Tasks”.
