Applied research such as that conducted in the AMI Consortium, is funded by a combination of national and international research grants and the participation of businesses who have a vested interest in the applications of advanced signal processing, machine learning and knowledge management in human-to-human communications.

The AMI Project is funded by a grant (project number IST-2002-506811) from the European Community Framework 6 Programme in Information Society Technology (IST).

The AMIDA Project is an extension of the foundation prepared in AMI with an emphasis on Distance Access, or meetings involving remote participants. The AMDIA project is also funded by a grant from the European Community Framework 6 Programme in IST.
