Thomas Meyer, new Idiap PhD student
As a PhD student, Thomas Meyer is working with Dr. Andrei Popescu-Belis on the COMTIS project (a cooperation between Idiap and the Departments of Linguistics and Computational Linguistics of the University of Geneva, see http://www.idiap.ch/comtis).
The project is about improving the coherence of Machine Translation output by modeling intersentential relations.
Thomas has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Zurich in German and Computational Linguistics. For the past three years, before joining Idiap, he has worked for a chemical analysis company, where he lead the translation and terminology management of the technical documentation of the company.
