ICC 2023 hackathon winners announced
Team HRAI, made up of Paul Margain, Matthieu Saussaye and Dina El Zein, won this 2023 edition of the ICC. Their project enabled them to develop a software prototype using artificial intelligence to put candidates back at the heart of the recruitment process. How? By eliminating the need to write a standard letter, thanks to the possibility of interviewing directly with an artificial intelligence and being evaluated without biases.
This project also convinced the jury members from Banque Cantonale du Valais, sponsor of the event. Dedicated to fintech projects, the BCVs Innovation Challenge prize is worth CHF 5,500. The members of the BCVs jury were unanimous in their choice, underlining the innovative nature of the project. Indeed, it makes it possible to manage recruitment challenges in the banking sector by providing assistance to HR staff, as well as a second opinion to avoid biases.
"We were impressed by the quality and innovative nature of all the projects presented this year," François Foglia, deputy director of Idiap and head of the ICC, explains. “It's a nice demonstration of the potential of AI in many fields, and of the Idiap research institute's commitment to applications of artificial intelligence in the service of society."
The hackathon was held from August 16 to 24 in Martigny, on the premises of Ideark and Idiap, in Martigny, Valais. Some twenty people from several countries participated in this event. They were selected for their skills and creativity.
