Doctolib acquires Idiap spin-off Typeless

The collaboration between Typeless and Idiap, taking place through the BRIDGE program founded by SNSF and Innosuisse, played a crucial role in this success. Thanks to this program, Maxime Vidal, co-founder of Typeless, was employed at our research institute and benefited from the expertise of our researchers specialized in speech processing. During this period, he joined Dr Petr Motlicek's team. This collaboration has enabled Typeless to develop and refine its speech recognition technology, which converts spoken language into structured text. By doing so, Typeless aims to reduce the administrative burden of doctors and their assistants.

The French company Doctolib, known for its online appointment management platform and innovative solutions for health professionals, operating in France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, is implementing a strategy aimed at accelerating the development of its digital medical assistant. The latter will benefit from Typeless's Voice-to-Text technology to standardize transcriptions of conversations between doctors and patients.
