Michael Liebling appointed Adjunct Professor at UC Santa Barbara
He will hold this affiliation concurrently to his position as Permanent Senior Researcher at Idiap in Martigny. This appointment will allow him to continue his long-term association with the University of California and pursue collaborative research projects that he initiated there.
Before joining Idiap full-time in 2015 (initially, on a leave from UCSB in 2015-2016), Liebling held positions as Assistant Professor (tenure track, 2007-2013) then Associate Professor (with tenure, 2013-2017) at UCSB, where he set up an interdisciplinary research program in bio-imaging and taught undergraduate and graduate classes in the area of signal processing.
At Idiap, Liebling is leading the computational bioimaging group, whose research focuses on developing combined hardware-software tools to push the limits of imaging, in particular, for observing highly dynamic biological systems in vivo.
