Ivana Chingovska received the PhD degree from EPFL

Ivana Chingovska received the PhD degree from EPFL on May 2nd 2016 after the public defense of her doctoral dissertation entitled: "Trustworthy Biometric Verification under Spoofing Attacks: Application to the Face Mode".

Her research was conducted in the framework of the TABULA RASA ( http://www.tabularasa-euproject.org ) and BEAT ( http://www.beat-eu.org ) projects and aimed to advance the state-of-the-art in biometric anti-spoofing now referred to as Presentation Attack Detection (PAD). Ivana proposed a solution to combine multiple biometric comparison sub-systems and PAD sub-systems with a new performance curve to evaluate the performance of biometrics in the presence or absence of presentation attacks. The work from Ivana is reproducible as it was established on public datasets and the Bob-based ( http://idiap.github.io/bob/ ) source code is available.
