Best student paper award for Kenneth Funes at the CVPR workshop on Gesture Recognition, 2012.

Kenneth Funes received his price the paper "Gaze estimation from multimodal Kinect data" co-authored with Jean-Marc Odobez, describing his research for head-free gaze estimation without constraints and that opens the door for new applications. The well attended workshop was co-organized by Isabelle Guyon, Vassilis Athitsos and Alex Kipman, the team director at Microsoft of the Kinect development.
