Idiap and the SDSC Collaborate on a Cloud Platform for Reproducible Research
Since the launch of the CollabCloud project, led by Idiap’s research scientist André Anjos with the support of a dedicated team spanning R&D and Systems and Infrastructures, Idiap has been working closely with the Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC) to develop the core infrastructure of the solution: Renku.
Renku, an open-source platform already part of the SDSC’s portfolio, is designed to support reproducible and collaborative research. The two teams have been working together to adapt and extend Renku to meet the specific needs of Idiap’s project. As the backbone of CollabCloud, the platform provides a seamless environment for researchers and data scientists to collaborate across projects in the cloud.
The teams have been meeting regularly, and the platform has been evolving steadily, from the workspace environment to its structure and code.
This collaboration not only enhances Idiap’s computational capabilities but also helps establish an open, accessible, and sustainable research ecosystem. It promotes transparency, collaboration, and innovation in scientific research – values that are central to Idiap’s mission.
