Abdurrahman Eray Baran, new Idiap research assistant
Abdurrahman Eray Baran received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechatronics Engineering from Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2008 and 2010 respectively. His undergraduate and graduate research was mainly focused on robotics with particular interest on teleoperation systems, UAVs and vision based control systems. His master thesis, entitled “Disturbance Observer Based Bilateral Control Systems”, was about robust teleoperation with network delay.
Starting from October 2010, Eray is a PhD. student in EPFL Electrical Engineering program under the supervision of Prof. Volkan Cevher. He has a joint research position in Laboratory for Information and Inference Systems (EPFL-LIONS) and Idiap Research Institute. His doctoral study is supposed to combine signal processing and robotics with particular focus on computer vision, visual servoing and machine learning.
