Laterna Magica, the smart beamer

Along his team mates, Sylvain Calinon, head of the Robot Learning & Interaction research group, took part in Idiap Create Challenge 2022 edition. Laterna Magica, their smart beamer prototype won the first prize.

How to enhance the capabilities of a beamer? Discover the smart beamer Laterna Magica combining 3D printing, a kinect sensor, and body posture recognition algorithms. This prototype was built by the winning team of 2022 Idiap's hackathon. The team was composed of Sylvain Calinon from Idiap, Gennady Plyushchev from the Skyentific Youtube channel and Daniel Berio from the Goldsmiths University of London.
