The first Reproducible Research Survey in Face Recognition
Idiap published a book chapter entitled “Face Recognition in Challenging Environments: An Experimental and Reproducible Research Survey” appearing in the Springer book “Face Recognition Across the Imaging Spectrum”.
This publication deals with face recognition in mobile and other challenging environments, where both still images and video sequences are examined. We provide an experimental study of one commercial of-the-shelf and four recent open-source face recognition algorithms. A short summary of the study is that there is not a single algorithm that works best in all cases and for all applications.
Experiment results from this book chapter can be reproduced using the distributed source code ( http://pythonhosted.org/bob.chapter.FRICE/ ) and the Bob library ( http://idiap.github.io/bob/ ).
